Paula Leslie

Principal

Paula has been practising exclusively in family law since her admission to legal practice in 2001, gaining valuable experience with Melbourne’s leading family law firms as Senior Associate and Special Counsel. With this wealth of experience, in 2019 Paula established her own boutique, specialised family law practice, Leslie Family Law, expanding into Launceston in 2024.

Paula has built Leslie Family Law consistent with her commitment to serving the best interests of children, ensuring they are protected from harm whilst still being afforded proper opportunities to enjoy relationships with all of the significant people in their lives.

Although an experienced litigator who prides herself in representing her clients vigorously while simultaneously providing realistic and pragmatic advice, Paula seeks to achieve non-acrimonious and efficient resolution of family law problems wherever appropriate.

Paula guides her passionate team with the knowledge and wisdom gained over her 20+ year career. Her experience and skills have been recognised by Doyles Guide since 2019, where she has been consistently nominated as one of Melbourne’s Leading Parenting Lawyers.

Paula is an Accredited Family Law Specialist and is a member of the Victoria Legal Aid Independent Children’s Lawyer Panel. She is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Victoria and has served on various committees of the Law Institute of Victoria, including the Children’s and Youth Issues Committee and working groups involved in issues facing the rights of same sex couples.

Jason Glass

With over five years of experience as a judge’s associate in the area of family law, Jason is well-versed in the jurisdiction and comes from a background of seeing how the court determines what is fair and reasonable for each party that appears before it. For that reason, Jason has an insider’s knowledge of the ways and workings of the judicial process.

Jason is committed to “telling your story” in the most compelling manner, working together with you to achieve the result that is needed for the safety and security of your family. Jason is dedicated to understanding your particular legal problem, and with minimal time, stress and expense, taking the necessary steps to plan and protect your legal position.

Bronte Whish-Wilson

Receptionist and Paralegal

Bronte Whish-Wilson has been a member of the Leslie Family Law team since 2021.

Having completed her doctorate in psychology in 2022, Bronte is an empathetic ear who will do her best to assist all of our clients, pointing them in the right direction and ensuring that they feel supported through their family law experiences.

Bronte welcomes hearing from clients to ensure that their family law problems are managed sensitively and graciously.

Sharne Tyley

Legal Assistant

Sharne Tyley joined the Leslie Family Law team as a legal assistant in early 2022, bringing with her over 20 years of experience working in family law.

With this background, Sharne has the practical knowledge and expertise to provide guidance to clients, while providing invaluable support to our lawyers. Clients and colleagues alike should have confidence in discussing matters with Sharne, who is always happy to share her insights and to help point people in the right direction.
